Making Waves (The Nolans album)

Making Waves is the eighth studio album by Irish pop group The Nolans. It was released in September 1980 by Epic Records. The album spawned two singles, "Attention to Me" and "Don't Make Waves". "Attention to Me" became a major hit, reaching the top ten in the UK Singles Chart.

Making Waves continued The Nolans' shift towards a more contemporary pop sound, building on the success of their previous albums. The album featured production from Ben Findon, who had worked with the group on several previous releases. While not as commercially successful as their earlier self-titled album The Nolans, Making Waves cemented their status as one of the leading female groups of the early 1980s and demonstrated their ability to adapt to changing musical trends. The album showcased a mix of upbeat pop songs and ballads, highlighting the group's vocal harmonies and individual talents. The overall reception to the album was generally positive, although some critics noted the shift away from their more traditional family-friendly image.
