Carlos Vargas (baseball)
Carlos Vargas is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida Marlins in 1999 and the Anaheim Angels in 2000.
Vargas was signed by the Florida Marlins as an amateur free agent in 1994. He worked his way through their minor league system before making his MLB debut in 1999. He appeared in 14 games for the Marlins that year, primarily as a relief pitcher.
In 2000, Vargas was traded to the Anaheim Angels. He pitched in 24 games for the Angels that season, again mainly in relief. He recorded one save.
After the 2000 season, Vargas did not play in MLB. His career statistics include a 0-1 record, a 6.10 ERA, and one save in 38 MLB appearances. Information about his post-MLB career and personal life is limited.
