Gordon Marshall (cricketer)

Gordon Marshall (born 19 October 1964) is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Hampshire and Sussex. A right-arm fast bowler, Marshall was known for his pace and aggression.

Marshall began his career with Hampshire in 1986, making his first-class debut against Oxford University. He quickly established himself as a key member of the Hampshire bowling attack, forming a potent partnership with Malcolm Marshall (no relation). He remained with Hampshire until 1993, taking 368 first-class wickets for the county.

In 1994, Marshall moved to Sussex, where he continued to be a valuable member of the team's bowling unit. He spent five seasons with Sussex, adding a further 174 first-class wickets to his career tally.

Marshall retired from first-class cricket at the end of the 1998 season. During his career, he took 542 first-class wickets at an average of 31.41, with a best bowling performance of 7 for 61. He also scored 1,351 first-class runs, with a highest score of 61.
