Mário Sérgio (footballer, born 1977)

Mário Sérgio Leal Nogueira (born July 28, 1977), known as Mário Sérgio, is a Portuguese former professional footballer who primarily played as a right-back.

He began his career in Portugal, playing for various clubs including Leça, Boavista, and Paços de Ferreira. He was known for his defensive solidity and occasional contributions in attack. Mário Sérgio spent a significant portion of his career with Boavista, where he achieved notable success, including winning the Primeira Liga title in the 2000–01 season.

After his time in Portugal, Mário Sérgio also played abroad, including spells in Spain and Romania. His career encompassed over a decade of professional football, during which he established himself as a reliable and experienced defender.
