Line 2 (Xi'an Metro)

Line 2 is a rapid transit line on the Xi'an Metro in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It runs primarily north-south, connecting the North Railway Station to the Weiqu South station. It is designated by a light red color on the Xi'an Metro map. Construction of Line 2 began in 2006 and the first phase, from North Railway Station to Xiaozhai, opened in September 2011. An extension south to Weiqu South opened in June 2014.

Line 2 is an important part of the Xi'an Metro system, providing connections to other lines and serving key areas of the city including the North Railway Station (offering high-speed rail connections), the city center, and several universities. It is a crucial artery for commuters and travelers alike. The line significantly alleviated traffic congestion along the north-south corridor of Xi'an. Further extensions and improvements may be planned to increase the line's capacity and coverage.
