Li Wei (footballer, born 1985)

Li Wei (Chinese: 李微; pinyin: Lǐ Wēi; born March 18, 1985) is a Chinese former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.

Career

Li Wei began his football career playing for Shandong Luneng's youth academy. He was promoted to their first team in 2004. Throughout his time with Shandong Luneng, Li Wei was known for his versatility and work ethic. He was a squad player for many years, often used as a substitute or filling in for injured players. He won several Chinese Super League titles and Chinese FA Cup titles with Shandong Luneng.

In 2017, Li Wei transferred to Wuhan Zall. He spent two seasons with the club before returning to Shandong Luneng (renamed Shandong Taishan) in 2019. He retired from professional football at the end of the 2020 season.
