Mario (album) is the self-titled debut studio album by American R&B singer Mario. It was released on July 9, 2002, by J Records. The album features production from a variety of producers including Rodney Jerkins, Warryn Campbell, and The Underdogs. "Just a Friend 2002" was the lead single and a major commercial success, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other singles included "Braid My Hair" and "C'mon." The album received generally mixed reviews from critics, with some praising Mario's vocal talent while others criticized the album's generic R&B sound.
