Whitehouse railway station (Northern Ireland)
Whitehouse railway station served the Whitehouse area of Newtownabbey in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The station was located on the Belfast-Larne railway line.
History
The station opened on 1 September 1848. Its closure date is disputed. Some sources state it closed on 20 September 1954. However, others indicate that while passenger service ceased on that date, the station remained open for goods traffic until sometime later. Definitive confirmation of a later, separate goods closure date is currently unavailable.
Description
Whitehouse station was a small wayside station, typical of those found on the Belfast-Larne line. It comprised platforms, a station building (which housed the stationmaster's office and waiting rooms), and associated sidings for goods handling.

Prior to its closure, Whitehouse station served passengers traveling between Belfast and Larne, providing convenient access to Whitehouse and the surrounding residential areas.
