Leslie Randall (actor)
Leslie Randall (born Leslie Randal Stevens, 19 October 1924 – 4 May 2020) was a British actor, best known for his roles in the Doctor series of films and television sitcoms, and for his long career in repertory theatre.
Randall was born in South Shields, County Durham. He began his acting career in repertory theatre, gaining experience in a wide range of roles. He made his film debut in 1951.
His appearances in the Doctor films included Doctor in the House (1954), Doctor at Sea (1955), Doctor at Large (1957), and Doctor in Distress (1963). He also featured in the television spin-offs Doctor in the House, Doctor at Large, Doctor in Charge and Doctor Down Under.
Beyond the Doctor franchise, Randall's television credits include appearances in popular shows such as The Saint, The Avengers, Z-Cars, and Dad's Army. He also had a recurring role in the sitcom George and Mildred.
Randall was married to actress Joan Reynolds from 1949 until her death in 1961. He then married actress Ann Bell in 1962. He remained active in acting, particularly on stage, well into his later years. He died in May 2020 at the age of 95.
