LaFerrari
The LaFerrari (project name F150) is a limited-production mid-engine hybrid sports car built by Italian automotive manufacturer Ferrari. It was introduced in 2013 and is the successor to the Enzo Ferrari. Only 499 examples were originally produced, with one additional car later auctioned for charity.
The LaFerrari features a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine producing 789 horsepower (588 kW), augmented by a 161 horsepower (120 kW) electric motor, yielding a combined output of 950 horsepower (708 kW). This hybrid powertrain allows for both enhanced performance and reduced emissions. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Aerodynamically, the LaFerrari incorporates active aerodynamic elements, such as front and rear diffusers and a rear spoiler, which adjust automatically to optimize downforce and minimize drag based on driving conditions. The car's chassis is constructed from various grades of carbon fiber to maximize strength and minimize weight.
The LaFerrari is characterized by its distinctive design, emphasizing aerodynamic efficiency and a driver-centric experience. It represents a significant step in Ferrari's integration of hybrid technology into its high-performance vehicles.
