John Marks (ice hockey)
John Marks (born August 18, 1948) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. A left winger, Marks played in the National Hockey League (NHL) and World Hockey Association (WHA) during the 1970s.
Marks was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks in the 1968 NHL Amateur Draft but did not play for them. His professional career began in the minor leagues, including stints with the Portland Buckaroos and the Seattle Totems. He made his NHL debut with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1971-72 season.
In 1972, Marks joined the newly formed World Hockey Association (WHA), playing for the Philadelphia Blazers, Vancouver Blazers, and Calgary Cowboys. He achieved his greatest success with the Cowboys, where he formed a potent offensive duo with Danny Lawson.
After the demise of the WHA, Marks returned to the NHL, playing for the Chicago Black Hawks and the Boston Bruins. He retired from professional hockey in 1979.
