Kvam Church (Nord-Fron)
Kvam Church is a parish church in Nord-Fron municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kvam. The church is part of the Church of Norway and belongs to the Sør-Gudbrandsdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar.
The church is a wooden cruciform church that was built in 1778. It replaced an older stave church that stood on the same site. The church was designed by builder and architect Svend Aspaas. It has a capacity of approximately 300 people.
Architecturally, the church represents a transitional style, incorporating elements of both Baroque and Rococo. The interior is richly decorated with wood carvings and paintings. A notable feature is the pulpit, which is carved with intricate details.
The churchyard surrounding Kvam Church contains a number of historical graves, reflecting the long history of the parish. Regular services are held at the church, and it is also used for baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and funerals. The church plays an important role in the local community.
