Kiss-in
A kiss-in is a form of public demonstration and activism in which participants kiss each other to protest something, usually discrimination or prejudice related to sexual orientation or gender identity, though it can be used to protest other issues as well. It is a type of public display of affection (PDA) specifically intended to challenge societal norms or legal restrictions regarding such displays.
Kiss-ins are often organized in locations where expressions of same-sex affection are unwelcome, discouraged, or even illegal. The act of kissing becomes a deliberate act of defiance and a visual representation of solidarity and visibility for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. The demonstrations are intended to draw attention to the issue at hand and to promote acceptance and equality. The effectiveness of a kiss-in as a form of protest lies in its ability to disrupt expectations and spark conversation.
