Free Democratic Party (Northern Cyprus)
The Free Democratic Party (Turkish: Özgür Demokrat Parti, ÖDP) was a minor political party in Northern Cyprus. It was founded in 2006 by Mustafa Erbilen. The party largely focused on liberal and secularist principles, advocating for closer ties with the European Union and a peaceful resolution to the Cyprus dispute. The party's support base was relatively small, and it did not achieve significant electoral success. It contested elections but never secured representation in the Assembly of the Republic. Information on the party's current status (active or defunct) is limited and requires further verification. Its activities and relevance diminished significantly after the late 2000s.
