Kim Cobb
Kim Cobb is an American climate scientist and professor at Brown University, where she directs the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. Her research focuses on paleoclimatology, specifically using geochemical analyses of corals to reconstruct past climate variability, particularly of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO). Her work contributes to understanding the dynamics of the climate system and improving climate models' ability to predict future changes. Cobb is actively involved in climate change communication and advocacy, working to inform the public and policymakers about the impacts of climate change and the need for mitigation strategies. She has served on numerous scientific advisory panels and received several awards for her research and outreach efforts. She is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the sciences.
