Kickert

A Kickert is a colloquial German term for a table football game, also known as foosball, table soccer, or baby-foot depending on the region and language. The term specifically refers to the table game itself and not the players. The word is derived from the German verb "kicken" (to kick) and the suffix "-er" which is often used to denote an agent or instrument performing the action. Therefore, Kickert literally means "kicker" or "something that kicks." While the game has various names internationally, Kickert is widely understood and used in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) as the common name for the game. The game involves manipulating rods with attached miniature players to kick a ball into the opponent's goal.
