Graham station (New York Central Railroad)
Graham Station was a former train station located in Putnam County, New York, on the New York Central Railroad's Putnam Division. It served the hamlet of Graham, situated in the Town of Kent.
The station, a small, wooden structure, was primarily a flag stop along the Putnam Division, meaning trains only stopped when passengers were waiting or needed to disembark. Service on the Putnam Division was primarily local, connecting communities along the route with New York City and points further north.
Passenger service on the Putnam Division, and therefore at Graham Station, declined significantly in the mid-20th century due to increased automobile use. The station was eventually abandoned, and passenger service on the Putnam Division ceased entirely in 1958. The former right-of-way has since been converted into a segment of the Putnam County Trailway, a rail trail. The station building itself no longer exists.
