Khan's Garden (Baku)
Khan's Garden (also spelled Khans Garden) was a large garden located in Baku, Azerbaijan, during the period of the Baku Khanate and subsequent Russian rule. It was situated east of the Baku fortress walls, extending towards the Caspian Sea.
Historical accounts describe Khan's Garden as a significant green space and recreational area for the city. It served as a private garden for the Khan of Baku and his family, but later became a public space accessible to the residents of Baku. The garden was known for its diverse flora, including fruit trees and flowering plants, creating an oasis within the city.
Over time, due to urban development and expansion, Khan's Garden gradually disappeared. Its former location is now largely occupied by various buildings and infrastructure projects in modern Baku. While the physical garden no longer exists, its name and historical significance are remembered in local lore and historical records related to Baku's past. The precise boundaries of the garden are subject to interpretation based on available historical maps and descriptions.
