Keith Jennings (basketball)
Keith Jennings (born November 2, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player and current basketball scout. He is best known for his impressive college career at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and his subsequent professional career, most notably in Europe.
Jennings, a 5'7" point guard, played collegiately at ETSU from 1987 to 1991. He led the Buccaneers to three Southern Conference tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. He was a three-time Southern Conference Player of the Year (1989, 1990, and 1991) and holds the Southern Conference record for career assists. His exceptional ball-handling skills and long-range shooting earned him national recognition.
After going undrafted in the 1991 NBA Draft, Jennings embarked on a successful professional career overseas. He played primarily in Spain and Germany, where he was known for his scoring ability and playmaking skills. He had particularly long and successful stints in Spain.
Following his playing career, Jennings transitioned into coaching and scouting. He has worked as a scout for the Miami Heat since 2008. In this role, he is responsible for evaluating players and providing insights to the team's front office. He is considered a valuable asset to the Heat organization due to his extensive basketball knowledge and experience.
