Huw Merriman
Huw Merriman (born 12 July 1973) is a British Conservative Party politician. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bexhill and Battle in East Sussex since the 2015 general election.
Merriman was educated at Uppingham School and Brasenose College, Oxford, where he studied History. Before entering politics, he worked as a barrister, specializing in commercial law.
He served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer between 2017 and 2019. In 2022, he was appointed Chair of the Transport Select Committee. He has been involved in various parliamentary debates and committees, focusing on issues such as transport infrastructure, energy policy, and environmental concerns. His voting record generally aligns with the Conservative Party platform.
