Juliet (moon)

Juliet is a small, inner satellite of Uranus. It was discovered on January 3, 1986, by the Voyager 2 spacecraft and is named after the heroine of William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet.

Juliet is a member of the Portia group of Uranian satellites, which also includes Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Portia, and Rosalind. These moons have similar orbits and photometric properties.

Juliet is estimated to have a diameter of approximately 93 kilometers (58 miles) and orbits Uranus at a distance of about 64,360 kilometers (39,990 miles). Its orbital period is roughly 0.493 Earth days.

Little is known about Juliet's composition or surface features due to the limited observations made by Voyager 2. It is thought to be composed of a mixture of ice and dark materials. The moon is irregularly shaped, exhibiting a slightly elongated form.

The surface of Juliet, like other inner Uranian moons, is likely heavily cratered due to continuous bombardment by space debris.
