Joint Forces Command (Malaysia)
The Joint Forces Command (Malay: Markas Angkatan Bersama) is a tri-service command of the Malaysian Armed Forces responsible for coordinating joint operations between the Malaysian Army, the Royal Malaysian Navy, and the Royal Malaysian Air Force. It aims to enhance interoperability and effectiveness in combined operations, exercises, and training scenarios.
The command is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing joint military operations both domestically and internationally, as well as providing support to civil authorities during emergencies. It also oversees joint training exercises designed to improve the readiness and effectiveness of the armed forces in responding to a wide range of threats and challenges.
The Joint Forces Commander is a senior officer, typically a Lieutenant General or Vice Admiral, who reports directly to the Chief of Defence Force. The command structure includes staff officers from all three services, reflecting the integrated nature of its operations. The headquarters of the Joint Forces Command is located in Kuala Lumpur.
The establishment of the Joint Forces Command reflects Malaysia's commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities through integrated and coordinated military operations.
