Daniel (Montenegrin singer)

Daniel Popović (born Daniel Đokić on 29 October 1955), often referred to simply as Daniel, is a Montenegrin pop singer who gained significant popularity in the 1980s. He is best known for representing Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 with the song "Džuli," which finished fourth.

Born in Titograd (now Podgorica), Montenegro, he spent much of his early life in Croatia. His music career took off after signing with Jugoton, one of the largest record labels in Yugoslavia. "Džuli" became a massive hit across Europe, propelling him to international recognition. Following Eurovision, he released several albums and singles, though he never replicated the success of "Džuli."

He has participated in various music festivals and television shows since his Eurovision appearance. While primarily active in the former Yugoslavia and its successor states, his Eurovision entry remains a notable part of the contest's history and a recognizable song from the era. His later career has seen him explore different musical styles and perform throughout the Balkan region.
