Castles in the Air (1919 film)

Castles in the Air is a 1919 American silent drama film directed by George Irving and starring Alice Brady. The screenplay was written by Clara S. Beranger, based on the novel of the same name by Baroness Orczy. The film revolves around a young woman, Princess Sylvia of Herzegovenia, who is forced to flee her country due to political unrest. She travels to the United States and disguises herself as a commoner, taking on the name "Sylvia Smith." While in America, she experiences a new life and falls in love with an American man. The film explores themes of social class, identity, and the clash between European aristocracy and American ideals. It was produced by Select Pictures Corporation. The film is now considered lost.
