Gunther (wrestler)

Gunther (born Walter Hahn on August 20, 1987) is an Austrian professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand. He is the current WWE Intercontinental Champion in his second reign.

Prior to joining WWE, Gunther was primarily known for his work in European independent promotions, most notably Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw), where he is a former two-time wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion. He also competed for promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Progress Wrestling.

He signed with WWE in 2019 and initially performed on the NXT UK brand under the ring name Walter. During his time in NXT UK, he held the NXT United Kingdom Championship for a record-breaking 870 days, the longest reign in the title's history. He established himself as a dominant force known for his hard-hitting style and imposing presence.

In 2022, he transitioned to the main roster, debuting on SmackDown and changing his ring name to Gunther. He quickly captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship, holding the title for over 400 days, becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of the 21st century. His signature moves include the powerbomb and the vicious chop. He leads the Imperium stable, which consists of Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.
