Johnny Morrison (baseball)
Johnny Morrison (born John Joseph Morrison on October 6, 1895, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, died August 29, 1966, in Scranton, Pennsylvania) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1920 through 1926 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Robins/Dodgers, and Boston Braves.
Morrison's MLB career began with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1920. He was primarily a relief pitcher throughout his career. His most productive season was 1922 with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he pitched 155.2 innings, primarily as a starter. He also had stints with the Brooklyn Robins/Dodgers from 1923-1925 and concluded his major league career with the Boston Braves in 1926.
After his playing career ended, Morrison remained involved in baseball, managing in the minor leagues. He also scouted for various MLB teams.
