John Simon (linebacker)

John Simon (born October 4, 1988) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Ohio State University, where he was recognized as an All-American.

College Career

Simon was a highly regarded defensive lineman for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2009 to 2012. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors twice (2011, 2012) and was named a consensus All-American in 2012. He was known for his relentless motor and ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Simon also served as a team captain during his senior season.

Professional Career

Simon was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played for the Ravens from 2013 to 2015, primarily as a backup and special teams player. He was later signed by the Houston Texans in 2016, seeing more playing time at outside linebacker. He retired from professional football after the 2017 season.
