John Hunter (rower)

John Hunter (born August 17, 1943) is a New Zealand rower who competed at multiple Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games. He is best known for winning a gold medal in the coxless pair event at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, alongside Dick Tonks.

Hunter began his rowing career in New Zealand. He quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. His partnership with Dick Tonks proved particularly successful.
