John Derry (bishop)
John Derry (died 1400) was a medieval Irish cleric. He served as the Bishop of Clonfert from 1395 until his death in 1400. Little specific information is available about his life and episcopate, a common challenge in reconstructing the history of this period in Ireland. Clonfert was a diocese of modest importance, and detailed records from the time are scarce. The principal source for his dates of tenure is the standard lists of Irish bishops, such as those compiled by Fryde, Greenway, Porter, and Roy, but these sources typically provide only minimal biographical data. Therefore, much about his activities as bishop remains unknown.
