Acapulco (2021 TV series)

Acapulco is an American-Spanish comedy television series created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros, and Jason Shuman. It premiered on Apple TV+ on October 8, 2021. The series is inspired by the 2017 film How to Be a Latin Lover.

The show stars Eugenio Derbez (also serving as narrator) alongside Enrique Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Chord Overstreet, Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, and Rafael Cebrián.

Acapulco follows the story of Máximo Gallardo, a young man whose dream comes true when he gets a job as a cabana boy at Las Colinas, the hottest resort in Acapulco. The series alternates between two timelines: 1984, depicting young Máximo navigating the complexities of his new job and relationships, and present day, where an older Máximo recounts his story. The show explores themes of ambition, family, and the pursuit of success, set against the backdrop of a glamorous Mexican resort town.
