Sine Mora
Sine Mora is a 2012 side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game developed by Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture. The game is known for its visually striking art style, intricate level design, and its unique manipulation of time as a core gameplay mechanic. Players control various characters piloting aircraft through horizontally scrolling stages, battling enemies and bosses while managing time. Time is both a resource and a threat; taking damage subtracts time, and running out of time results in death.
The game features a story mode with a branching narrative focusing on themes of revenge and sacrifice. It also includes an arcade mode offering a more traditional shoot 'em up experience. Sine Mora's gameplay is characterized by its bullet hell elements, requiring players to skillfully maneuver through dense patterns of enemy fire. Its soundtrack, composed by Akira Yamaoka, contributes significantly to the game's atmosphere. The game was initially released on Xbox Live Arcade and has since been released on various platforms, including PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PC, and mobile devices. Sine Mora Ex, an enhanced version with additional content and visual improvements, was later released.
