Big Brother 12 (American season)
Big Brother 12 was the twelfth season of the American reality television series Big Brother that aired on CBS from July 8 to September 15, 2010. The season featured 13 HouseGuests competing for a grand prize of $500,000 by living in a custom-built house under constant surveillance. Each week, the HouseGuests competed in competitions to win power, and ultimately, evicted one another until only a few remained. The winner was determined by a jury of previously evicted HouseGuests.
The season was notable for the dominance of a six-person alliance known as "The Brigade," composed of Enzo Palumbo, Hayden Moss, Lane Elenburg, Matt Hoffman, Rachel Reilly, and Kristen Bitting (the latter two being in a showmance that was part of the alliance). The Brigade successfully controlled the game for a significant portion of the season, though internal conflict and strategic shifts eventually led to its disintegration.
Hayden Moss ultimately won the season, defeating Lane Elenburg in a 4-3 jury vote. Rachel Reilly, a controversial figure throughout the season, was also a significant player. The season was hosted by Julie Chen Moonves.
