Joe Moody (politician)
Joe Moody (born November 24, 1975) is an American politician who has served as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 78 since 2017, and previously from 2011 to 2015. His district encompasses part of El Paso County.
Moody is an attorney and a graduate of Texas A&M University and St. Mary's University School of Law. He served as a prosecutor in the El Paso County District Attorney's Office before entering politics.
During his time in the Texas House, Moody has served on several committees and has been involved in legislation concerning criminal justice reform, public safety, and issues affecting veterans. Notably, he has been a vocal advocate for bipartisan cooperation and finding common ground on important policy issues. He is perhaps best known for his work on criminal justice reform, particularly in the area of mental health and the justice system.
