Joe Gibson (American football)
Joe Gibson (born c. 1935, date of death unknown) was an American football player who played offensive tackle in the American Football League (AFL).
Gibson played college football at Texas Southern University, where he was a standout lineman.
He was drafted by the Dallas Texans (later the Kansas City Chiefs) in the 1961 AFL Draft. He played for the Texans/Chiefs from 1961 to 1962. During his time with the team, the Texans won the 1962 AFL Championship, defeating the Houston Oilers.
Gibson's professional football career was relatively brief, spanning only two seasons. He is remembered as a member of the early Kansas City Chiefs teams.
