Jangaon

Jangaon is a town and district headquarters in the Jangaon district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is located approximately 85 kilometers east of Hyderabad, the state capital.

History:

Historically, Jangaon was part of the Kakatiya dynasty and later came under the rule of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, the Mughal Empire, and the Asaf Jahi dynasty (Nizams of Hyderabad). It played a significant role in the Telangana Rebellion (1946-1951). Jangaon was formerly a part of the Warangal district until the formation of new districts in Telangana in 2016, when it became the headquarters of the newly formed Jangaon district.
