Kathgarh

Kathgarh is a town located in the Tehsil Balachaur of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district (formerly known as Nawanshahr district) in the state of Punjab, India. It is situated approximately 16 kilometers from the town of Balachaur.

Kathgarh is known primarily for its ancient Shiva temple, the Kathgarh Mahadev Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The temple is particularly famous for its unique Shivalingam, a naturally occurring confluence of two stones representing Shiva and Parvati. The Shivalingam's size varies depending on the lunar cycle. During Shivaratri, a major Hindu festival, the temple attracts a large number of devotees.
