James McKinley (American football)

James McKinley is a former American football player. He played college football as a defensive back for the University of Auburn from 1977 to 1980. While at Auburn, he was known for his strong tackling and pass coverage skills. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the 12th round of the 1981 NFL Draft. He played professionally for the Falcons in 1981 and 1982. After his professional football career, McKinley has remained active in the Auburn University community.
