Prenton

Prenton is a residential suburb located in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England. Situated approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Birkenhead, it is primarily a suburban area characterized by housing, local shops, and schools.

Prenton is bounded roughly by Birkenhead to the east, Oxton to the northeast, Thingwall to the west, and Bebington to the south.

Historically, Prenton was a township within the parish of Bebington. Its development as a modern suburb largely occurred during the 20th century.

Prenton is most notably associated with Prenton Park, the home stadium of Tranmere Rovers Football Club, a professional association football team. The area also includes several parks and green spaces contributing to its residential character.

Prenton's local governance is under the jurisdiction of the Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council.
