James Forrest (actor)

James Forrest (born September 28, 1925, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada; died August 22, 2005, Thousand Oaks, California, USA) was a Canadian-American actor who primarily worked in American film and television. He was known for his rugged features and frequently portrayed military men, law enforcement officers, or villains.

Forrest began his acting career in the early 1950s and appeared in numerous television shows, including Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone, Bonanza, The Virginian, S.W.A.T., Dallas, and Dynasty. He also had recurring roles on shows like The Monroes and Medical Center.

In film, Forrest's notable roles included appearances in The Living Desert (1953, narrator), The Fastest Gun Alive (1956), Flaming Star (1960), The Rare Breed (1966), Rascal (1969), and North Dallas Forty (1979). He often played supporting characters, providing a strong presence to various Westerns, action films, and dramas.

Forrest served in the Canadian Army during World War II before pursuing his acting career. He was married to Juanita Stagen from 1948 until his death; they had two children.
