Jakšić

Jakšić (Cyrillic: Јакшић) is a Serbian surname.

The Jakšići were a Serbian noble family that held large estates in the Braničevo region and surrounding areas during the late medieval period, primarily in the 15th and early 16th centuries. They were powerful vassals of the Serbian Despotate and later served as border lords for the Kingdom of Hungary against the Ottoman Empire.
