Mike Thompson (2000s pitcher)
Mike Thompson (born September 25, 1975) is a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2000 to 2009. He primarily pitched as a starting pitcher.
Thompson was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 3rd round of the 1996 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with the Marlins on May 17, 2000.
Over his MLB career, Thompson played for the Florida Marlins (2000-2002, 2007), Colorado Rockies (2004), Oakland Athletics (2005-2006), and Los Angeles Dodgers (2008-2009).
His best season statistically was with the Oakland Athletics in 2005, where he pitched effectively as a starter.
Following his MLB career, Thompson continued to pitch in the minor leagues.
