Jörg Bode (politician)
Jörg Bode (born 9 September 1970 in Hameln) is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP). He served as the State Minister of Economics, Labor and Transport of Lower Saxony from 2009 to 2013.
Bode studied economics at the Leibniz University Hannover, graduating in 1997. He then worked as a management consultant.
He joined the FDP in 1991 and was a member of the Lower Saxony Landtag from 2003 to 2017. He served as chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Landtag from 2008 to 2009. Following the 2009 state election, Bode was appointed Minister of Economics, Labor and Transport in the coalition government of Christian Wulff (CDU). He continued in this role under Wulff's successor, David McAllister (CDU), until the 2013 state election, when the FDP failed to clear the 5% threshold to enter parliament.
After leaving state government, Bode worked in the private sector. He has remained active in the FDP.
