Ixanthus

Ixanthus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Gentianaceae. It is endemic to the island of Socotra, part of Yemen.

The genus is characterized by its shrubby habit, leathery leaves, and showy, bell-shaped flowers. It is adapted to the arid and rocky conditions of its Socotran habitat.

Currently, the genus is generally considered to contain a single, highly variable species:
