Matthew Kemp (soccer)
Matthew Kemp (born July 9, 1980) is an Australian former professional soccer player. He primarily played as a defender, often at left-back.
Kemp played the majority of his professional career in Australia's A-League, representing clubs such as Adelaide United, Melbourne Victory, and Gold Coast United. He began his professional career with NSL side Brisbane Strikers.
During his time in the A-League, he was known for his defensive work rate, tackling ability, and commitment to the team. He was part of the Melbourne Victory squad that achieved success in the A-League. He also spent time playing overseas.
After his playing career ended, Kemp remained involved in soccer through coaching and other avenues. His contributions to Australian soccer were recognized by fans and peers.
