Penmark
Penmark refers to a specific type of marking or annotation made using a pen, typically on a physical document or surface. The term is often used to describe a deliberate and distinct mark, such as a signature, a correction, or an emphasis placed on a particular word or passage. It differentiates itself from more generalized markings or smudges that may occur accidentally. Penmarks are permanent or semi-permanent depending on the type of ink used and the surface on which they are applied. The study of penmarks, particularly variations in pen pressure, stroke patterns, and ink characteristics, can be relevant in fields such as forensic document examination and handwriting analysis. In everyday usage, "penmark" can also simply denote a visible ink mark left by a pen.
