IRGC Fajr
The IRGC Fajr (Persian: سپاه فجر استان فارس, Sepah-e Fajr-e Ostan-e Fars), also known as the Fars Province Corps, is a provincial corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran. It is responsible for maintaining security and order within Fars Province.
The corps, like other provincial IRGC units, operates independently of the regular Iranian military within its assigned geographic region. Its responsibilities include internal security, counter-terrorism, disaster relief, and the implementation of IRGC policies. The IRGC Fajr also plays a role in social and cultural activities aligned with the IRGC's broader mission of upholding the values of the Islamic Revolution.
The corps commands Basij militia forces within Fars province, mobilizing them for various activities including security patrols, public events, and disaster response. It also oversees the training and organization of reserve forces. Information regarding the specific size, organization, and activities of the IRGC Fajr is often limited and subject to change.
