Hirofumi Akagi
Hirofumi Akagi (赤木 洋文, Akagi Hirofumi) is a Japanese electrical engineer and academic, specializing in power electronics and electric power systems. He is a Professor Emeritus at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he made significant contributions to the field, particularly in the development and application of active power filters (APF) and shunt active power filters. Akagi's work has focused on improving power quality and mitigating harmonic distortion in electrical grids, resulting in numerous publications and patents. He is a Fellow of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and has received several prestigious awards for his research and contributions to the power electronics community.
