Edward Compton (cricketer)
Edward Compton (born 29 December 1918, date of death unknown) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who played first-class cricket for Leicestershire between 1946 and 1947.
Compton made his first-class debut against Lancashire in June 1946, scoring 18 and 2. He played a further 12 first-class matches for Leicestershire over the next two seasons, achieving a highest score of 61 against Cambridge University in 1947. In total, he scored 436 runs at an average of 17.44 with two half-centuries.
