Trikone

Trikone is a Boston-based, non-profit organization for South Asian lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA+) individuals and their allies. Founded in 1986, it is one of the oldest and largest groups of its kind in the world. The name "Trikone" (त्रिकोण) is Sanskrit and Hindi for triangle, a symbol sometimes associated with gay identity.

Trikone’s mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering space for LGBTQIA+ South Asians to connect, build community, and advocate for their rights. The organization achieves this through various activities including social gatherings, educational events, workshops, and online forums. Trikone also strives to raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues within South Asian communities and to combat homophobia and transphobia.
