Veve (film)

Veve is a 2014 Kenyan drama film directed by Simon Mukali. The film explores themes of political corruption, love, and ambition within the context of the Kenyan miraa (khat) trade.

The narrative follows several interwoven storylines: a politician attempting to consolidate his power by controlling the miraa business; a young and ambitious woman seeking to climb the social ladder; and a conflicted miraa farmer struggling to survive in the face of powerful interests.
